WE ARE STRANGERS TO THEM

We are pawns;

We are pathways,

A route towards a destination;

We serve a certain purpose;

Relevant for a reason and season;

We are strangers to them,

We are not the wife,

But just a concubine,

Good in sight;

And for that one night,

We are strangers to them,

So they may care but never share,

So they may promise but never fulfil;

We are stranger to them,

And if we haven’t seen that,

Then it’s a big shame;

We are strangers to them,

Numbers in a piece of paper,

To tilt and wilt,

And make them feel worthy,

We are strangers to the jets

And big gates,

We are strangers to the millions;

They promise,

We are strangers,

To the jobs they claim to create,

We are stranger to them;

So please,

Let them be strangers to us
